LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Healthcare service provider Totally has secured a new contract worth up to £66m, it announced on Monday, for the provision of two urgent treatment centres in the south east London area of Bromley.
The AIM-traded firm said the deal was replacing an existing contract that Totally currently had in place for the two centres.

It said that following a full tender process, the NHS South East London Integrated Care Board awarded the contract to Greenbrook Healthcare.

The contract would start on 1 April next year and run for five years, with the option to extend by an additional three years.

Totally said the integrated care board would be working with Greenbrook on a mobilisation plan between now and the contract start date, to ensure the contractual requirements were met.

Greenbrook had delivered urgent treatment centre services at Princess Royal University Hospital and Beckenham Beacon since 2013 and 2014 respectively, and recently re-tendered against a new service specification and financial model.

"Our urgent treatment centres aim to prevent avoidable accident and emergency attendances by ensuring that patients are treated in the most appropriate setting, according to their clinical and wellbeing needs," said chief executive officer Wendy Lawrence.

"This means that NHS emergency service staff can focus on treating those with more serious conditions."

Lawrence said the company was continuing to work alongside the NHS to deliver "quality services" to patients, even during times of significant pressure.

"This new contract reaffirms Totally's position as a key partner to the NHS, as all those in healthcare continue to focus on ensuring patients can access the care they need, when they need it."

At 1437 GMT, shares in Totally were up 4.47% at 35.52p.
