LONDON (ShareCast) - Two directors at Great Portland Estates sold a combined £1.6m in stock, the property company said on Friday.

After achieving performance targets set in the firm's long-term incentive plan in 2011, Chief Executive Toby Courtauld and Portfolio Director both sold over half of the shares that were awarded to them in order to meet the tax liabilities associated with the transaction.

Courtauld was awarded 298,890 shares but sold 140.479 at a price of 651.8p each, raising £0.92m. This left him with around 1.34m shares, equal to a 0.39% holding.

Thompson, meanwhile, received 237,893 but disposed of 111,810 at the same price, raising £0.73m. His resultant stake was 0.77m shares, equal to a 0.22% stake.

The shares have risen by nearly 27% over the past 12 months, rising 12% in the year-to-date.
