LONDON (ShareCast) - Satellite operator Avanti Communications on Monday reported that David Bestwick, its Chief Technology Officer, and Nigel Fox, its Chief Financial Officer, had both increased their holdings in the group.

The largest of the purchases was made by Bestwick, who bought 4,000 shares at 250.03p each on Friday.

Fox on Monday paid the higher price of 252.94p, although only added 1,960 shares.

Bestwick now holds 1.302m shares, while Fox owns 134,580.

The deals were announced the same day the group revealed it has been selected by ESER Telekom, a Turkish telecoms firm, for the delivery of a government contract in the Middle East. Under the agreement, ESER will deploy Ka-band services in the Middle East for an international connectivity programme.

"This win further demonstrates the quality and flexibility of our satellite network, meeting the needs of even the most demanding users," Avanti's Chief Executive, David Williams, told investors.
