LONDON (ShareCast) - A director of one of Lindsell Train’s star funds has cashed in 159,000 pounds of shares in the investment trust.

Michael Mackenzie, a non-executive director of Lindsell Train Investment Trust, sold 500 shares, or 0.25% of the trust’s issued shares, on July 19th for £318 a share.

Fellow director Michael Lindsell and the fund's manager Nicholas Train each sold shares on May 4th at £236. The transaction leaves Mackenzie holding 1,825 non-beneficial shares in the trust.

Lindsell Train Investment Trust’s aim is to generate total returns that avoid losing absolute value and at least maintain the real purchasing power of sterling capital. The respected fund underperformed the MSCI (Sterling) Index in the first half, gaining 15.6% compared with 16.3% for the index.
