LONDON (ShareCast) - Futura Medical, a healthcare company focused on transdermal technology, said on Wednesday its product portfolio has been progressing in line with expectations.
Ahead of its annual general meeting, the group said it is working on a modified manufacturing process on its CSD500 condom to extend the product's shelf life required by the industry.

Furthermore, the clinical study of diclofenac, ibuprofen and methyl salicylate has started in March and results are expected by next month.

Its erectile dysfunction product MED2002 is also at an advantage stage of preprarations for a clinical study.

N+1 Singer analysts said the new gel offers a "faster onset of action" than Viagra, with an improved patient convenience and potentially more favourable safety profile.

Chairman John Clarke said: "We have strengthened our development and production capabilities in the past year by more than doubling the number of full-time scientific and technical personnel to seven and by creating two separate teams.

"This structure, and the strength of our balance sheet, will support us in the execution of our business plan."
