The UK Smaller Companies Fund aims to achieve long-term capital growth and income.
The Fund rose by 3.8% during October compared to a rise of 4.0% from the sector average. This was a satisfactory performance in the light of the strong performance of the FTSE 250 Index (excluding investment companies) which rose by 6.2%. Many funds in the sector have a significant exposure to mid-cap companies while the Premier Castlefield UK Smaller Companies is almost entirely invested in companies in the FTSE Small Cap and AiM indices.
