The Close FTSE techMARK Fund is a unit trust whose objective is to track the performance of the FTSE techMARK 100 Index of technology stocks.
The FTSE techMARK 100 Index fell by 14.8% in October as the widespread and indiscriminate selling of equities that began in the previous month continued as the global financial crisis sparked fears of a severe global recession. There are currently only 85 stocks in the Index, 3 fewer than last month after Thus Group and nCipher were taken over and Plasmon went into Administration and was removed from the Index.FTSE International has advised that there are currently fewer than 100 eligible stocks with sufficient secondary market liquidity, and it is exploring this issue with the London Stock Exchange. The Close FTSE techMARK Fund continues to seek to track the performance of the Index.
