LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - European Metals Holdings took a major step in the development of its Cinovec Lithium Project in the Czech Republic on Thursday, appointing Dorfner Anzaplan to conduct the next level of advanced test work following positive results from recent independent studies.
The AIM-traded company had announced in 15 January that it was conducting independent studies to evaluate a number of existing lithium extraction methods.

Its board described Dorfner Anzaplan as a specialist in testing and engineering services for high-value industrial and strategic minerals and downstream products, with previous experience in the treatment of lithium minerals.

Additionally, European Metals said it had terminated its heads of agreement with Lithium Australia involving the potential use of Li-Max technology.

The company said that, while it considers Li-Max to be a viable process warranting further investigation, it had been unable to arrive at terms that it found commercially acceptable.

"We are very pleased to be working with Dorfner Anzaplan to advance the Cinovec Project. Dorfner are a very well regarded specialist firm who have extensive experience working with lithium minerals and in dealing with European end users. Dorfner have had previous experience with the treatment of zinnwaldite (the Cinovec host rock) to extract lithium," said European Metals CEO Keith Coughlan.

"We note with considerable interest the recent significant developments in the broader market for lithium and lithium products within close proximity to the Cinovec Project," he added.
