LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Diageo chairman Javier Ferrán acquired 270 ordinary shares in the FTSE 100-listed drinks maker.
Ferrán, who took over as chairman back in January 2017, bought the shares at a price of 3,960.80p each, for a total value of £8,264.7.

Back in January, Diageo said first-half net sales rose 5.8% to £6.9bn with organic growth partially offset by unfavourable exchange as it announced a £600m share buyback.

Reported operating profit at the Johnnie Walker maker was up 11% to £2.4bn, driven by organic growth, while pre-tax profits were up to £2.6bn from £2.2bn.

As of 1620 GMT, Diageo shares had picked up 0.73% to 3,055.50p.
