Totally manages 'good' rating across its Staffordshire NHS services

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Out-of-hospital service provider Totally announced on Wednesday that its Royal Stoke Urgent Care Centre, part of the Vocare group, was recently rated as 'good' overall following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission.
The AIM-traded firm said that, in an "almost unprecedented" move, Vocare had improved the centre's service by two CQC ratings in six months, moving it from 'inadequate' to 'good'.

It also improved the rating of both the GP Out of Hours and NHS 111 services to 'good', meaning that Staffordshire was now rated 'Good' across the board.

Following the rerating, Totally said it was pleased to confirm that there were now no longer any 'inadequate' ratings across the entirety of the Vocare group's 24 services.

Vocare, which Totally described as "one of the UK's leading" national specialist providers of urgent care services, was one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, and managed NHS 111, GP Out of Hours and Urgent Care Centre services for Staffordshire from the Central Region's head office at Staffordshire House .

"We are extremely pleased that the work carried out to make significant improvements to Vocare's services at UCC North Staffordshire, since its previous inspection in April, has been duly recognised by the CQC," said Totally chief executive officer Wendy Lawrence.

"The team is incredibly proud of the service they offer and this upgrade is testament to their continued determination to improve and provide the best possible service."

Lawrence said the upgrade of the Royal Stoke UCC marked a "significant milestone" for the company, as it now meant that it no longer carried any 'inadequate' CQC ratings.

"This highlights the considerable and tangible progress that Vocare has made to all of its services in just one year since its acquisition in October 2017.

"These fantastic results demonstrate the company's ability to integrate its subsidiaries and ensure that they deliver on the group's ambitions of becoming a leading provider of out-of-hospital care and the partner of choice for the NHS."

Bob Holt, chairman at Totally, added that the upgrade on all performance measures was a "testament" to Lawrence and the senior management team's ability to provide the necessary leadership and expertise to ensure Totally provided quality care and services.

"The board and I would like to thank all the staff members for their continued efforts.

"Our partnership with the NHS continues to provide value for money and improved services to patients and service users."
