LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - London's second-tier index notched up a gain of 0.76% in the final session of the week to 6,095.41.


Shares of the largest domestic lenders, Barclays, Lloyds and RBS paced the advance, sharing in gains for the wider sector across the Continent as the main stock market gauges on both sides of the Pond rallied during the latter half of the session.

GVC Holdings was also near the top of the leaderboard, extending the previous session's rise after announcing that it had agreeing with joint-venture partner MGM Resorts to increase investment in its US sports betting and online gaming business.

Stock in Rolls Royce was also on the up, bouncing back from the prior day's thrashing.
