LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Spoken word streaming service Audioboom has traded in line with expectations over the last thirteen months after its Dead Man Talking podcast received just shy of one million downloads since its launch back in October.
The AIM-quoted outfit, which launched its Audioboom Originals Network back in the first half of 2017, saw more than two million monthly downloads of its 12 owned and operated podcasts last month, driven by the popularity of titles such as Covert, Mafia and Dead Man Talking.

Audioboom believes the recent success of Dead Man Talking, a true crime podcast investigating the confessions of notorious serial killer Ángel Reséndiz, has been a result of its high production value and heavy promotional campaign ahead of its release.

The group intends to repeat the strategy used to drive Dead Man Talking's success on future projects as it looks to expand the reach of its Originals Network in 2019.

"It is the fastest growing show that we've ever released," said chief executive Rob Proctor. "AON and co-production shows are a key focus for next year, which we anticipate will allow us to further grow gross margins, and potentially develop valuable IP, which we may be able to expand into TV and film production in conjunction with our partners into 2019 and beyond."

As of 0830 GMT, Audioboom shares had slid 4.52% to 1p.
