LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - DekelOil, a part owner of the Ayenouan palm oil project in the Ivory Coast, appointed Vince McAleer chief executive of its subsidiary, Dekeloil Côte d'Ivoire.
He will be based in the West Africa country from 16 November and replaces Eyal Timmor, who has decided to pursue other opportunities but will remain until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

McAleer has over 30 years' experience in tropical agriculture, processing and trading, including 20 years in the palm oil sector in Indonesia, Nigeria and Papua New Guinea with CDC and SIAT.

Recently, he was chief executive of the African Agriculture Fund's palm oil platform, which has investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone.

Executive director Lincoln Moore said McAleer has a strong background in agriculture and most importantly a local knowledge of the West African palm oil industry.

"We believe his addition to the management team on the ground will be invaluable as we continue to deliver on our strategy to become a leading West African crude palm oil producer."

Shares in DekelOil were down 1.91% to 11.52p at 0954 GMT.
