Thursday preview: US data, Premier Oil in the spotlight

(Sharecast News) - The spotlight on Thursday will be on a trio of high-frequency economic indicators in the States, including weekly jobless claims, housing starts and the Philly Fed's regional manufacturing gauge.
Across the Channel meanwhile, European Central Bank vicepresident Luis de Guindos is scheduled to deliver a speech at 1130 BST, followed by ECB executive board member Benoit Coeure at 1730 BST.

But the data calendar is quite light, with euro area foreign trade figures for March set to be the main attraction of the session.

Among the corporates which are set to update markets is Premier Oil.

According to Numis's Thomas Martin, markets' focus will be on whether the firm sticks to previously provided guidance for reducing debt, on output and for operational costs, as well as regards operational execution on the outfit's key projects.

At its full-year results presentation in March, Premier guided towards a reduction in net debt of between $250-350m to about $2.0bn, production of 75,000 boe/d and $13/boe, respectively.

Capex meanwhile was seen at $340m by company management.
