Thursday preview: Revised Q1 US GDP, Serco in the spotlight

(Sharecast News) - The flow of economic data will thin out considerably on Thursday with a revised reading on first quarter US gross domestic product growth the main release on tap.
Readings on weekly US jobless claims and pending home sales for May are also scheduled for release.
Across the Channel meanwhile, the European Commission will release the results of its euro area industrial and consumer confidence surveys for the month of June at 1000 BST.
Also due out are data on German and Spanish consumer prices in June.
No major economic releases are scheduled in the UK.
On the corporate side of things, outsourcer Serco is due to update markets, with investors keen for confirmation of the prospects for organic revenue growth and on progress with its various cost savings initiatives.
Together with its recent acquisition of NBSU in the States and in anticipation of a further deleveraging of the balance sheet, the above have driven a substantial re-rating in the company's shares, taking them back up multi-year highs, despite the ongoing political uncertainty in the UK.
Some analysts are also anticipating bolt-on acquisitions to materialise further down the line.
