FTSE 100 movers: ITV rallies on La Liga news; Fresnillo loses its shine

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was up 0.4% at 7,094.46 in afternoon trade on Friday as traders stepped in to pick up some bargains after the previous day's declines.
ITV was the standout gainer after Spain's La Liga signed an initial deal for its matches to be shown on the London-listed broadcaster's free-to-air network in the UK.
RBS was also trading higher following heavy losses a day earlier when its stock went ex-dividend and was dented by a rating downgrade at HSBC.
Precious metals miners Fresnillo lost its shine even as gold prices held firm. Oanda analyst Craig Erlam said: "The yellow metal remains at elevated levels and is struggling to record any kind of significant correction, despite having enjoyed a long and substantial rally.
"It continues to trade above $1,500 but you could argue that its performance this week has been a little lacklustre, given the risk environment we've been witnessing. Perhaps this is the sign of a weakening bullish trend we've been waiting for. And just as it enters into the $1,520-1,560 region that was so pivotal six years ago when it last traded around these levels."
Miner BHP was on the back following a downgrade to 'underperform' at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
