CyanConnode appoints operating chiefs for group and India

(Sharecast News) - Mesh network technology company CyanConnode has appointed Allan Baig as its group chief operating officer, and Ratna Garapati as the chief operating officer of CyanConnode India, it announced on Thursday, which are both non-board appointments.
The AIM-traded firm said Baig joined CyanConnode in June 2017, and had 30 years of experience in management and engineering with "leading" technology companies.

Prior to CyanConnode, he held the position of project manager at Landis+Gyr, and led their UK smart meter implementation programme.

Baig was responsible for project management across engineering functions, including product development, systems integration, and deployment, predominantly for the programme.

As group chief operating officer at CyanConnode, he would lead all operations and engineering disciplines across teams in the UK and India.

He would report directly to executive chairman John Cronin.

Ratna Garapati, meanwhile, had more than 25 years of experience in product development and management, IT business operations management and strategic planning and digital transformation.

He most recently held the position of vice-president at Trilliant India, where he was responsible for business development, strategy, and operations.

CyanConnode said his key achievements at Trilliant India included the winning and implementation of multiple smart grid pilots, and actively participating in the implementation of more than five million smart meters, of which 1.3 million had been commissioned.

Prior to Trilliant, Garapati was chief delivery officer of smart energy and smart cities for Fluentgrid India, where he reportedly customised and deployed the world's largest cloud utility billing solution in Uttar Pradesh for 22 million consumers in six months, and demonstrated the scalability of a meter data management system for 10 million smart meters.

In his role as chief operating officer for India, he would be responsible for managing CyanConnode operations and customer delivery functions in the country.

Garapati would report directly to Ajoy Rajani, managing director and chief executive officer of CyanConnode India.

"Allan has been key to the organisation during his time at CyanConnode, particularly in overseeing the development of Omnimesh and the knowledge transfer from Sweden to the UK," said executive chairman John Cronin.

"As the group enters its next phase of development, with large projects due to be deployed, Allan's role will be to ensure that the process is as seamless as possible."

Cronin said Ratna, meanwhile, had "extensive experience" in developing and delivering products and solutions in the Indian market.

"The calibre of the organisations that Ratna has previously worked for and his history of delivery, provides us with great confidence for the evolution of our Indian business, especially during this busy time."

At 1307 GMT, shares in CyanConnode Holdings were down 0.86% at 5.65p.
