Mobile Tornado enters deal with Telrad for push-to-talk technology

(Sharecast News) - Enterprise communication technology company Mobile Tornado has signed a partnership agreement with global LTE telecoms solutions firm Telrad Networks, it announced on Wednesday, for an integrated, end-to-end solution for 'push-to-talk' (PTT) communication over broadband.
The AIM-traded firm said that by leveraging the Internet to provide robust communication anywhere an end-user had LTE, or '4G', coverage, the new joint PTT solution would enable customers to use a single mobile device for both cellular and PTT communication in both one-to-one and group environments.

Using LTE infrastructure, Mobile Tornado said features would include software-based push-to-talk voice communications, text messages, location tracking, emergency alerts, voice recording for all group calls, and a hardware dispatch console for monitoring and controlling all PTT users in the field.

The PTT solution's capabilities had already been successfully tested with smartphones connected via Telrad's 'BreezeCOMPACT' base station and Mobile Tornado's MDC2000 multi-session dispatch.

Telrad would start marketing the proposition in all of its markets globally during the first quarter of 2021, and Mobile Tornado would generate software licence fees on every system sold.

"We are proud to partner with Telrad to deliver best-in-class instant communication solutions to our customers around the world," said chief executive officer Avi Tooba.

"This new solution allows customers with traditional land mobile radio and digital mobile radio systems to migrate to extremely powerful LTE broadband systems with capabilities that do not exist in those older systems.

"This could prove transformative for organisations whose day-today operations rely on PTT communication, such as oil and gas or mining."

At 1140 GMT, shares in Mobile Tornado Group were up 10.14% at 3.8p.
