(Sharecast News) - Pfizer and BioNTech will supply the European Union with an additional 75m doses of their Covid-19 vaccine over the three months to June.
The projected increase in supplies will come from the new production plant in Marburg, Germany, which is due to come online in February.
Running at full production capacity, the new plant is expected to be able to produce 750m doses per year.
Combined with existing capacity, Pfizer-BioNTech expect to be able to deliver 2bn doses of the vaccine each year.
In parallel, at the weekend, AstraZeneca said it would supply the bloc with an additional 9m doses of its shot already in the first quarter, taking the total to 40m.
