US job openings jump in February, 'quits' rise

(Sharecast News) - The number of job openings in the US jumped in February, alongside faster hiring and an increase in so-called 'quits' or voluntary separations.
According to the Department of Labor, the number of job openings in the US jumped at a month-on-month pace of 3.7% to reach 7.37m.

One year ago, the number of job openings stood at 7.012m.

Hiring also sped up, from a clip of 5.465m to 5.738m, while the number of separations rose from 5.323m to 5.456m.

Within the latter, the number of quits increased from 3.306m to 3.357m, a possible indication of US workers' increased confidence in their ability to find another job and in the overall economic outlook.
