(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 250 was up 0.4% at 21,074.40 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Budget carrier Wizz Air flew to the top of the index after it said it was expecting to ramp up capacity beyond pre-pandemic levels for its summer schedule as it forecast a better-than-expected final quarter. Other travel-related shares also gained, with easyJet, Upper Crust owner SSP and WH Smith all higher.
Discoverie was in the black after it said that trading in the final two months of the year continued to be strong, with the group now expecting to deliver full-year underlying earnings from continuing operations ahead of previous guidance.
On the downside, Ashmore lost ground after it said assets under management fell 10% in the third quarter as investors withdrew funds following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
