Rolls-Royce offers staff £2k cost-of-living bonus

(Sharecast News) - Tens of thousands of staff at Rolls-Royce are set to receive a £2,000 payment to help with the skyrocketing cost of living.
According to the BBC, the FTSE 100 company will give the payment to shop floor workers and junior management at its sites in Bristol and Derby.

Around 3,000 non-union staff will receive the single payment with their August wages, while the remaining 11,000 will be paid after approval from their unions.

Rolls-Royce told the BBC that the payment would make it to about 70% of its workforce in the UK, with the 11,000 unionised staff set to be offered a below-inflation 4% wage rise backdated to March.

The company's move makes it the latest to try and appease its workforce, as consumer inflation continues to rise towards 10%.

Earlier in June, Lloyds Banking Group offered its staff a £1,000 lump sum to help ease the cost-of-living crisis.
