(Sharecast News) - UK and Canada-focussed oil and gas company i3 Energy announced the spud of the Serenity appraisal well on Thursday, on UK licence P.2358, block 13/23c.
The AIM-traded firm owns a 75% working interest in the field.
It said the drilling programme was expected to last around 30 days.
"The well will be plugged and abandoned after completion of all drilling operations," the board said in its short statement.
At 1035 BST, shares in i3 Energy were down 2.24% at 24p.
