US pre-open: Futures slightly higher following heavy sell-off in previous session

(Sharecast News) - Wall Street futures were little changed ahead of the bell on Tuesday after concerns that interest rates may rise even further still fuelled a sell-off in the previous session.
As of 1220 GMT, Dow Jones futures were up 0.08%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.12% and 0.24% firmer, respectively.

The Dow closed 482.78 points lower on Monday as market participants digested last month's non-manufacturing purchasing managers index from the Institute for Supply Management and headlines from China.

News that Beijing city will no longer require negative Covid tests to enter the majority of public spaces, malls or residential areas was in focus early on Tuesday.

Treasuries were also drawing an amount of investor attention prior to the open, with the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note up over four basis points at 3.553%, while the two-year note rose more than three basis points to 4.366%.

On the macro front, October's balance of trade figures will be out at 1330 GMT, as will October's import and export data.

In the corporate space, Smith & Wesson and Stitch Fix will report earnings after the close.
