IQGeo secures contract with Japan's NESIC

(Sharecast News) - Software firm IQGeo has secured a strategic contract with NESIC for a new disaster assessment service for Japanese public authorities.
IQGeo said on Wednesday that the £1.9m deal, over five-years, includes its software platform and mobile capabilities - consisting of a £1.0m licence and associated support and maintenance.

The AIM-listed group's new solution integrates "a wide range of data streams and weather analytics" into a single geospatial dashboard for office based and mobile field crews.

IQGeo added that the solution will enable public service authorities to effectively monitor and manage disaster response activities during Japan's "frequently severe" typhoon, earthquake and tsunami incidents.

Chief executive Richard Petti said: "We're pleased to be working with our partner NESIC on this essential service for the Japanese market. IQGeo is leveraging our dominant position in utility industry emergency response market to create a significant new SaaS channel aimed at Japan's public service authorities."

As of 1025 GMT, IQGeo shares were up 0.12% at 213.25p.
