(Sharecast News) - EasyJet has announced that it is appointing the chief financial officer European freight operator Lineas as the new head of its finance function, as current CFO Kenton Jarvis gets ready to move into the chief executive role early next year.
Jan De Raeymaeker, who prior to Lineas was the CFO of Brussels Airlines between 2012 and 2018, will join the board on 20 January.
While at Brussels Airlines, he is said to have played an "instrumental role in transforming the company's finance function whilst achieving a significant growth in passenger numbers as part of the airline's commercial repositioning", according to easyJet.
"We are delighted to appoint Jan De Raeymaeker as our chief financial officer. Jan has good experience in the airline and transport sectors as well as strong continental European reference points," chair Stephen Hester said.
"I look forward to working with Jan and Kenton on the delivery of our ambition to be Europe's most loved airline, winning for customers, shareholders and our people."
EasyJet announced in May that current CEO Johan Lundgren would step down in early 2025 after seven years at the helm to be replaced by Jarvis after reviewing both internal and external candidates.
"He has impressed since joining easyJet in 2021, is fully bought in to the plan and will hit the ground running," Hester said in a statement in May.
