RPS Group confirms three additions to leadership team

(Sharecast News) - Professional services firm RPS Group announced on Friday that it has finalised its group leadership team with three key appointments.
The London-listed company said the team would create a "flatter, more responsive" organisational structure which combined new and existing leaders who together would provide "deep expertise", "global perspective" and "strong" functional support.

It said the group leadership team would support its chief executive officer John Douglas in defining and implementing the group's strategy and management of its global operations.

The firm confirmed that John Chubb had been appointed as CEO for consulting UK and Ireland, and joined the group this week.

Chubb brought more than 25 years of experience in a "broad range" of engineering management roles, and for the past eight years had held leadership positions in consulting engineering.

"After a successful stint as managing director of Grontmij UK, John's last role was as managing director of Sweco Denmark," the RPS board said in its statement.

"During this period John served on both the Grontmij and latterly Sweco executive committees, whilst concurrently holding roles of executive chairman for Grontmij Sweden, and Grontmij UK.

"John's strong leadership and proven track-record in raising business performance and building forward-thinking strategies, will be invaluable in positioning the business to seize the opportunities that we know are there for the taking."

The RPS board also said Judith Cottrell had been appointed as group director of strategy, which was a new position on the group leadership team.

It said Cottrell had more than 20 years of experience in senior finance and operational roles, latterly as acting chief executive officer for the firm's consulting UK and Ireland segment.

"Judith started her career qualifying as an accountant with KPMG before joining AEA, who were focused on government work and providing environmental consultancy services," the board said.

"Judith has been with RPS since 2015 and her in-house knowledge of the company, our business model, operating structure, clients and people, give her a unique perspective which is highly valued by the group leadership team.

"RPS is very pleased to be retaining Judith and further developing her career within the group."

Additionally, as the group outlined in its third quarter trading update, RPS had appointed a new chief information officer.

The board said Kelly Olsen started in the role on 29 October, and also sat on the group leadership team.

"Kelly has over 30 years of experience in business operations and technology most recently serving as a non-executive director at SMS, where she chaired a newly-created information technology committee of the board, with a remit to review and provide strategic guidance on the development of the company's technology programmes," the RPS board explained.

"Before this, she was chief information officer, head of corporate programmes and director at NHS Property Services."

RPS said the appointment of Olsen reinforced its commitment and recognition of the importance of technology in the business.

"It will ensure the group fully leverages its digital capabilities to create greater competitive advantage.

"Kelly's extensive experience and skill in delivering business transformation and focus on operational excellence is a welcome and natural fit to complete our group leadership team."
