MRS Services secures shutdown refurbishment contract

(Sharecast News) - MRS Services Group has secured a contract for the structural refurbishment of six front line excavators in upcoming shutdown projects, it announced on Friday.
The AIM-traded firm said the first project would start in late November, with the remaining five shutdown projects starting in January.

It said the work would be carried out on and off site at its "one stop service" facility.

The estimated value of the contract was between AUD 1.5m and 1.6m.

MRS said the scope of the work was to conduct structural refurbishment and programed component replacement to those six excavator units, to achieve optimum service availability to meet production performance targets.

Installation of its patented 'Hydraulic Isolator' would also be carried out on two of the machines.

"It's very pleasing to lock in a longer-term contract, usually these types of projects come to us one at time," said chief executive officer Paul Brenton.

"The six month contract is a reward for the hard work the team has delivered and, demonstrates the true value of MRS, a diversified fabrication and maintenance service offering - the Hunter Valley's one stop shop for mining fabrication and maintenance."
