Jupiter Fund Management's new boss buys-in

(Sharecast News) - Jupiter Fund Management's chief executive officer, Andrew Formica, bought-in shortly after taking up his new post on 1 March.


According to the company, its new boss picked-up 150,000 shares on 15 March at an average price of 346p, for a total transaction amount of £518,787.6.

Previously, on 14 March, Stephen Pearson, the firm's chief investment officer, exercised 43,665 options over stock in the company, selling 20,523 shares immediately afterwards at 349.4p apiece in order to cover tax liabilities that resulted.

But a week before, on 7 March, group vice chairman, Edward Bonham Carter, exercised 32,500 options over shares granted to him under the company's 2014 Long-Term Incentive Plan and the 2018 Deferred Bonus Plan, going on to sell 32,490 shares at 363.9p each.

On the same day that Formica came on board, the fund manager posted a drop in full-year 2018 pre-tax profit of £13.7m to £179.2m as assets under management declined 15% to £42.7bn amid net outflows of £4.6bn.

Following that, on 5 March, analysts at Berenberg lifted their target price on the shares from 344p to 357p, albeit while keeping their recommendation at a 'hold', arguing that there was greater upside to be had elsewhere in the sector.
