Brewin Dolphin in talks about buying Investec's Irish wealth management business

(Sharecast News) - FTSE 250 wealth manager Brewin Dolphin confirmed on Monday that it is in exclusive talks with Investec about the possible acquisition of its Irish wealth management business.
"Discussions are ongoing and there can be no certainty that a transaction will be agreed," the company said.
It added that a further announcement will be made if and when appropriate.
The statement followed a report in The Sunday Times suggesting that Brewin was competing with Allied Irish Banks to buy the business for up to €60m.
