Smith & Nephew\'s acquisition of Brainlab completed

(Sharecast News) - Smith & Nephew on Monday completed its acquisition of orthopaedic joint reconstruction outfit Brainlab, whose digital workflow technology is used by surgeons in more than 500 hospitals worldwide.
The FTSE 100-listed global medical technology business said the transaction continues its strategy of investing in best-in-class technologies that enhance its portfolio of digital and robotic surgical products.
While the initial priority will be the integration of Brainlab\'s technology into NAVIO 7.0, Smith & Nephew\'s next generation surgical robotics platform, the two entities will also collaborate on the development of additional applications to \"enhance Smith & Nephew\'s digital surgery ecosystem\".
Prior announcements have confirmed that the acquisition includes Brainlab\'s associated salesforce, which will be integrated into S&N\'s own robotics commercial organisation and certain other intangible assets.
However, commercial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.
