Reneuron Group wins series of international patents

(Sharecast News) - Reneuron Group on Tuesday announced that it has expanded its intellectual property estate via the grant of a number of international patents covering its exosome technology platform.
The new patents were granted in China, Korea, Japan and Europe, and include claims to a method of producing exosomes derived from differentiated stem cells, methods of production, and composition of matter for exosomes derived from the company's CTX neural stem cells.

Meanwhile, a further patent has issued in Japan with claims including use of a neural stem cell exosome in the treatment of brain cancer.

Following these patent grants, the AIM traded company's patent estate consists of over 40 patents worldwide covering its cell-based therapies and exosome technology.

Olav Hellebø, chief executive of ReNeuron, said: "We are pleased to have received these recent patent grants relating to our exosome technology platform. We expect to build this patent estate further in the near future. The recent and expected grants will stand us in good stead as we seek valuable collaboration deals to exploit ReNeuron's exosome platform as a novel system for delivering advanced therapeutics such as gene therapies."

Reneuron Group's shares were up 1.94% at 242.10p at 1335 BST.
