Director dealings: Lekoil founder ups stake

(Sharecast News) - Lekoil revealed on Friday that chief executive Olalekan Akinyanmi had acquired 915,950 ordinary shares in the AIM-listed crude oil producer.
Akinyanmi, who founded Lekoil back in 2010, purchased the shares on Tuesday at an average price of 4.20p each, for a total value of £38,469.90.

Following the transaction, Akinyanmi has a total shareholding in Lekoil of 40.24m ordinary shares, representing approximately 7.5% of the group's issued share capital.

Lekoil swung to an annual profit last month as revenues climbed after production at the Nigerian Otakikpo oil field ramped up.

The oil and gas exploration and production company recorded a profit before tax of $2.3m for 2018, after $14.8m of red ink for the year before, after revenue jumped by 58% to $48.7m.

As of 1610 BST, Lekoil shares had climbed 5.26% to 4p.
