Audioboom adds three more podcasts to its in-house network

(Sharecast News) - Podcast company Audioboom announced the continued expansion of its original podcast network on Tuesday, confirming that three more shows would be added as part of its strategy for expanding and sustaining its 'Audioboom Originals Network' (AON).

The AIM-traded firm said the first would see television personality and The Jersey Shore star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren, launch their new podcast The Sitch with Mike and Lauren.

It said the weekly show would focus on wellness, healthy living, fitness, recovery from addiction and more.

"From their personal experiences they help bring positive vibes to the lives of their audience," Audioboom's board said, with the show launching on 3 March.

The second podcast, Truth vs Hollywood, was described as a "critical look" at the real-life stories behind popular movies,.

Audioboom said the film-loving hosts, David Chen and Joanna Robinson, would "explore the movies", as well as what really happened, aided by interviews with writers, journalists, and witnesses to the stories.

The first series would run for 12 episodes, and was set to launch on 14 April.

Finally, the first podcast from Audioboom's production partnership with Future Publishing would be Life's Little Mysteries.

The company said that each week, Live Science's senior writer Mindy Weisberger and managing editor Jenna Bryner would cover topics about the world, taking listeners on an "exciting voyage of discovery and downright weirdness".

This podcast would be based on their popular web column, Life's Little Mysteries, and premiered earlier in the week.

"We remain extremely excited by the continued expansion of our Audioboom Originals Network, which is central to our growth strategy, underpinning higher margin returns and further enhancing our IP," said chief executive officer Stuart Last.

Brendan Regan, executive vice-president of content at Audioboom, added that the Audioboom Originals Network had become a home for "great ideas, creative concepts, and thought-provoking new podcasts".

"We're excited to introduce listeners to three fantastic new shows, delivered by some of the leading talent in podcasting."

At 1602 GMT, shares in Audioboom were up 3% at 206p.
