InfraStrata extends consultation period for Islandmagee marine licence

(Sharecast News) - Infrastructure project and asset company InfraStrata has, in consultation with the Northern Ireland Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), extended the ongoing public consultation period for its marine licence, due to the amount of public interest shown in the Islandmagee Gas Storage Project, it announced on Friday.
The AIM-traded firm said the public consultation period would now run until 23 March.

Additionally, it said Islandmagee Energy would host an additional information day at the Gobbins Centre in Islandmagee on 20 February.

The board said the extension was not expected to delay the ongoing process to convert the draft marine licence into a full marine licence.

It said DAERA would continue to process responses to the consultation process, while simultaneously dealing with any additional information received during the extended period.

"We are delighted with the positive response that we have received during the consultation process," said chief executive officer John Wood.

"In order to accommodate further requests to attend and learn more about the project, we have decided to extend the process."

Wood said the company remained confident that the marine license would be issued following due process.

"The extensive scientific work undertaken on the project clearly indicates that the project will comply with the regulatory framework that is currently in place."

At 1324 GMT, shares in InfraStrata were down 4.85% at 0.29p.
