Marshall Motor set to reopen showrooms on June 1

(Sharecast News) - Car dealership operator Marshall Motor said it would reopen showrooms on June 1 after the government said it was further easing coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
Marshall, which runs 98 showrooms across the country, said plans to reopen already "well advanced" before the government announcement on Monday.

Chief executive Daksh Gupta said: "We are confident that, in accordance with the Prime Minister's announcement, our businesses are Covid-19 secure and we look forward to re-opening our businesses from 1 June."

Marshall also noted that its aftersales facilities were already open for all customers, having previously been focused on supporting the emergency services, commercial vehicle operators, key workers and vulnerable people.

"Whilst still early, initial demand is encouraging as we start to ramp-up our aftersales operations," added Marshall.

As of 0925 BST, Marshall shares had surged 11.11% to 115p.
