Auto Trader offers discount as customers in England prepare to reopen

(Sharecast News) - Auto Trader Group updated the market on the support it was providing customers during the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis on Wednesday, following confirmation from the UK government around the reopening of vehicle retail in England.
The FTSE 100 company said the government's guidance on 25 May confirmed that vehicle retailers in England would be able to reopen from 1 June.
On Wednesday, the vehicle advertising platform said it would provide further support to its customers in England as they resume trading, following the discounts and bill deferrals offered in recent months.
It said that would include a 25% discount for the month of June.
Auto Trader said it would confirm any changes to its existing arrangements with customers in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as government announcements are made for those parts of the UK.
"This recent government announcement is an important step forward for the automotive industry, and we will continue to support our customers as they resume trading," said chief executive officer Nathan Coe.
"It is encouraging that both our marketplace data and our consumer research suggest healthy levels of demand."
