FTSE 100 movers: ICG slumps after results; Fresnillo shines

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was down 0.4% at 6,355.71 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Intermediate Capital Group was the worst performer after the release of its full-year results. In the year to the end of March, assets under management rose 22% to €45.3bn, with profits at the fund management company up 27% to £183.1m.
However, the investment company swung to a loss of £68.6m from a profit £39.1m in 2019 due to lower valuations of unrealised assets in the final quarter as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pennon was in the red after it increased its annual dividend by 6.6% but halved its target for dividend growth as the water company set aside almost £9m for bad debts from Covid-19.
Carnival was also lower after saying it has extended the shutdown of its Princess Cruise business, effectively scrapping the summer season, as ports remain closed and restrictions limit international travel.
Precious miner Fresnillo was sitting pretty at the top of the index as gold prices rallied, while budget airline easyJet was higher despite the prospect of falling out of the FTSE 100 index.
