Week ahead: US Fed, Chinese foreign trade data in focus

(Sharecast News) - Financial markets' focus over the coming week will be on the US central bank, as rate-setters at the Federal Reserve reveal their latest assessment of the country's economy and weigh in on the most likely path for policy.
Nonetheless, given the still heightened levels of uncertainty globally, little is expected to have changed since they last met.
The American jobs market won't be far from the spotlight, especially after the previous Friday's blockbuster employment report for May.
The JOLTS labour market survey is due out on Tuesday, alongside the National Federation of Independent Business confidence index for small companies.
Those will be followed on Thursday by the weekly initial jobless claims data.
US May CPI will be published on Wednesday.
Further afield, in the People's Republic of China, a reading on foreign trade in May is due out on Sunday, followed by the CPI report for May, also on Wednesday.
On home shores, the heaviest day in terms of first-tier economic data will be Friday, with readings on foreign trade and industrial production in April scheduled for release, together with a reading on monthly GDP.
In the euro area, Tuesday will bring with it French and German foreign trade data for April.
