Tekcapital investment Guident files another US patent

(Sharecast News) - Intellectual property investment company Tekcapital announced on Monday that its portfolio company Guident has filed an additional patent for the enhanced remote monitoring and control of autonomous vehicles, delivery drones and robots.
The AIM-traded firm said Guident has filed US patent application 17025152 entitled 'System and Methods for Remote Monitoring of a Vehicle, Robot or Drone.'
It said the new patent taught methods and procedures for improving the real-time, intelligent monitoring and control of autonomous vehicles and land-based delivery drones.
The application was directed to a novel smart remote monitoring device and improved remote monitoring control centre, describing methods for monitoring incident risk level and remotely taking control of multiple autonomous vehicles, robots, or drones.
Guident said the systems and methods described in the application could enhance the safety of autonomous vehicles, robots, or drones.
Tekcapital said Guident had developed and acquired a portfolio of seven patents and applications, together which enables advanced teleoperation for autonomous vehicles and drones to enhance customer safety and security whilst providing a reliable, low latency connection to any advanced mobile network solution.
"We are very excited to announce this additional patent," said Guident's chairman and chief executive officer Harald Braun.
"We believe that Guident's advanced remote monitoring and control center for autonomous vehicles, robots and drones will facilitate safe teleoperation capabilities of autonomous vehicles, robots and drones and enable vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators to comply with local laws requiring remote monitoring and control for driverless autonomous vehicles."
At 1130 BST, shares in Guident were up 5.83% at 12.7p.
