Rogue Baron appoints industry veteran Peter Mooney as advisor

(Sharecast News) - Premium spirits company Rogue Baron announced the appointment of industry veteran Peter Mooney to its advisory board on Friday.
The Aquis Exchange-listed company described Mooney as a "drinks industry specialist", with more than 25 years of senior UK and international experience spanning general management, marketing, sales, finance, communications and e-commerce.
It said his expertise was gained in global blue-chips including Coca-Cola, Diageo, Heineken, off-trade spirits distributor Maxxium UK.
Mooney was the UK marketing director for a portfolio of more than 30 premium spirits brands including Absolut, the Macallan, Highland Park, Stolichnaya Vodka, Brugal Rum, Jim Beam, Remy Martin Cognac and Cointreau.
More recently, he worked in smaller private businesses, and created and led McEwan's Beer Company, leading the turnaround of a brand that had suffered from long-term decline.
In 2016, Mooney founded International Drinks Development (IDD), which assists drinks companies in growing their brands on a global basis.
Rogue Baron said that with IDD, he had brought success to a number of brands in markets worldwide, with that business continuing to thrive.
"Rogue Baron is delighted to have someone of Peter's experience and track record to join the team," said chief executive officer Ryan Dolder.
"Peter's brief is initially to help build Shinju to a global drinks brand which can comfortably occupy our early position at the accessible end of Japanese whisky, and yet confidently exist at the higher end of the category as we intend to launch older aged expressions with super-premium positioning and pricing.
"A key component of this is to address possibilities for launching Shinju outside of the United States, with a particular focus on Europe and the UK in particular."
