CyanConnode gets follow-on order for Thailand roll-out

(Sharecast News) - Narrowband radio frequency mesh network technology company CyanConnode announced a further follow-on order from its partner, the JST Group, for the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), which is a state enterprise under the Ministry of Interior in Thailand.
The AIM-traded firm said the follow-on order was for 31,000 'Omnimesh' modules and associated gateways, and was in addition to the 33,000 modules and 206,735 Omnimesh perpetual software licences purchased in 2019 and 2020.
Deployment of the order would follow the successful 'go-live' phase of the MEA smart grid project, which was expected in the fourth quarter.
CyanConnode said it was delivering the MEA project with JST, and its partner Forth Corporation, which is a telecommunication and electronics company which provides products and integration services across Thailand.
MEA, which serves around four million customers in Bangkok and two adjacent provinces, was deploying a 'smart metro grid' platform to improve power availability and reliability, as well as to analyse distribution losses, automate meter reading, and increase customer satisfaction.
CyanConnode said its Omnimesh technology had been integrated into Forth's electricity meters, using the frequency bands of 442MMHz and 447MMHz, which were allocated to the Thai energy utilities by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission.
"We are delighted to have received this follow-on order from our partner JST," said executive chairman John Cronin.
"The smart grid project for MEA, being our first project in Thailand, is an important project for CyanConnode, and we are pleased to see it progress to the next stage of hardware requirements."
At 1524 BST, shares in CyanConnode Holdings were up 4.76% at 11p.
