Proton Motor Power gets another order from E-Trucks Europe

(Sharecast News) - Fuel cell and electric hybrid technology company Proton Motor Power announced a further order from E-Trucks Europe on Thursday, for seven 'HyRange 43' hydrogen fuel cell systems, to be deployed in refuse collection trucks.
The AIM-traded firm said the order followed the first from E-Trucks for five systems, which it announced in January 2020.

It said the E-Trucks Europe vehicles are "fully electrified" refuse collection trucks with 136 kWh batteries, where the Proton HyRange systems act as range extenders and allow "almost continuous" daily operation.

E-Trucks hydrogen refuse trucks have been deployed in the cities of Groningen, Best, Breda, Eindhoven and Helmond, among others.

Delivery of the new contract was expected over the next 18 months, with the company adding that it had entered into a contract with E-Trucks Europe to provide maintenance services for the next five years.

"We are delighted with this order which, following E-Trucks Europe's initial order for five units, confirms the attraction and reliability of Proton's HyRange extenders in harsh, real life commercial vehicle applications." said chief executive officer Dr Faiz Nahab.

At 1048 BST, shares in Proton Motor Power Systems were up 2.42% at 46.09p.
