EU new passenger car registrations decline in September

(Sharecast News) - New passenger car registrations declined across the European Union to a 26-year September low due to the current global shortage of semiconductors.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, new car registrations fell 23% year-on-year last month to 718,598 vehicles, with Spain, France, Italy, and Germany all reporting strong decreases.

"This decrease in sales was largely caused by a lack of supply of vehicles due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage," said the ACEA.

Year-to-date, new passenger car registrations were still in the green, up 6.6% to 7.5m.
