Week ahead: US tech giants, China data in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' attention over the coming week will be split between the US corporate earnings season and key economic data out of China and the UK.
Among the former, Apple's product event on Monday will be followed by quarterly updates out of Netflix and Tesla on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
On the economic side of things, the market spotlight will be on a raft of due out from China's Office for National Statistics on Monday.
They will include a reading on third quarter gross domestic product, alongside a slew of economic activity indicators covering the month of September.
Back on home shores, on Wednesday the Office for National Statistics will release consumer price data for September with retail sales figures set to follow on Friday.
And last, but possibly not least, also on Friday, consultancy IHS Markit will release its closely-followed purchasing managers surveys for factory sector activity in the euro area, UK and US.
