Wizz Air passenger numbers soar in November

(Sharecast News) - Low-cost carrier Wizz Air revealed on Thursday that it had carried 2.17m passengers in November as it continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering.
Wizz Air said passenger numbers soared 375.7% year-on-year last month, while capacity increased 326.5% to 2.85m and load factor increased 7.9 percentage points to 76.1%.

The FTSE 250-listed firm stated it continued to operate amongst the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/kilometre amongst all competitor airlines, with 66.2 grams per passenger/km for the 12 months ended 30 November.

Wizz Air also highlighted that it had signed an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of a further 102 Airbus A321 aircraft and had allocated an additional Airbus A321neo aircraft to its Rome Fiumicino fleet as it launched 13 new routes from the Italian capital to Madrid, Menorca, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Lyon, Kefalonia, Rhodes, Preveza, Basel, Turku, Podgorica, Belgrade and Yerevan.

As of 0925 GMT, Wizz Air shares were up 0.28% at 4,235.0p.
