Friday preview: Global factory PMIs, euro area CPI in the spotlight

(Sharecast News) - All eyes at the end of the week will be on a raft of manufacturing sector Purchasing Managers' Indices due out across the globe, together with a 'flash' reading on euro area inflation.
First out among the former overnight will be private sector survey compiler Caixin's factory PMI for China.

Manufacturing activity will also be in the spotlight Stateside as the Institute for Supply Management releases its closely-followed survey of conditions in the sector covering the month of June at 1500 BST.

Across the Channel on the other hand, investors will be focused on a preliminary estimate for euro area consumer price inflation in June.

Consensus was for a headline CPI print of 8.3% year-on-year for the month of June, up from 8.1% in May.

At the core level, CPI was seen coming in one tenth of a percentage point higher in annual terms at 3.9%.

But factory sector activity won't be far from investors' minds either, as S&P Global will release final readings for its factory PMIS for the single-currency bloc's largest economies in June, as as well as for the Eurozone itself.

On home shores meanwhile, apart from S&P Global's final reading for its UK factory PMI, at 0700 BST the Bank of England will release consumer credit and mortgage lending figures for May.

Elsewhere in Asia, CPI data are due out in Tokyo, together with a reading for unemployment in May and the Bank of Japan's quarterly Tankan business confidence index.
