Egdon, Union Jack confirm appeal to Lincolnshire council planning refusal

(Sharecast News) - Egdon Resources and Union Jack Oil both told shareholders on Monday that an appeal against a refusal by the Lincolnshire County Council had been submitted.
The AIM-traded firms said the council had refused an extension of time to the existing planning permission for the drilling and testing of a conventional exploration well at the North Kelsey site in licence PEDL241 in March.

Egdon holds a 50% interest in PEDL241, and is the operator, while Union Jack holds the remaining 50%.

"The appeal documentation has been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) and the appeal will now be validated by PINS before an inspector is appointed and a timetable defined," Egdon said in its statement.

"The expectation is that the appeal will be decided under the written representation procedure - a process where PINS will consider written evidence from the appellant, the local planning authority and other interested parties."

At 1239 BST, shares in Egdon Resources were flat at 3.9p, while those in Union Jack Oil were down 1.25% at 27.16p.
