Thursday preview: US producer prices, Fed's Powell in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus on Thursday will continue to be on the inflation picture in the States.
At 1330 BST the US Department of Labor is expected to announce that producer price growth picked up modestly in October.

Against that backdrop, later in the day, at 2000 BST, Federal Reserve president, Jerome Powell, is due to speak on the economic outlook.

Financial markets will likely be hanging on every word that he might have to say, although at present there is not yet much further information regarding what the incoming administration's exact economic agenda might be.

On home shores, overnight the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors will release its Housing Price Balance for October.

Across the Channel meanwhile, all eyes will be on preliminary readings for employment and gross domestic product growth in the euro area during the third quarter.
