US pre-open: Futures little changed as investors await NFP data

(Sharecast News) - Wall Street futures were generally flat ahead of the bell on Friday as investors braced for last month's non-farm jobs report.
As of 1220 GMT, Dow Jones futures were up 0.06%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had both indices opening 0.01% firmer.

The Dow closed 125.65 points lower on Thursday following a barrage of blue-chip corporate earnings that received a mixed reaction from investors.

Friday's primary focus will be January's non-farm payrolls report at 1330 GMT, with economists expecting to see a drop from 256,000 to 170,000 last month. The unemployment rate was also expected to hold steady at 4.1%.

Elsewhere on the macro front, December wholesale inventories figures will be released at 1500 GMT and November consumer credit change data was slated for release at 2000 GMT.

In the corporate space, shares in online retail behemoth Amazon were in the red in pre-market trading as disappointing guidance overshadowed both top and bottom-line beats, while travel technology group Expedia said Q4 profits and revenues had grown thanks to increased bookings across segments.
